Hover your mouse on the above feet to see the animations of steps (iPad just
tap the steps to see the animation). Three types of steps steps around the partner are shown: S
(side), F (forwards-cross) and B (back-cross) on various feet,
which can be described using
Rasche Notation 2.
Also, there's one example of a small forward-cross step f (feet cross but remain
together), as in the cruzada. The above steps are:
Man's steps (in blue):
LS = man's 'L'eft foot does a 'S'ide step (around the partner)
RF = man's 'R'ight foot does a 'F'orwards-cross step (between both dancers)
Woman's steps (in red):
Lf = woman's 'L'eft foot does a small 'f'orwards-cross step, or
cruzada (lower case f means a small step)
RB = woman's 'R'ight foot does a 'B'ack-cross step (around the partner)
Hover your mouse on the above feet to see the animations of steps s, f, and b for steps as described with Rasche Notation 2. These steps are in the same directions as S, F and B above (Side, Forward-cross and Back-cross steps around the partner). However, they are shorter steps, ending next to the standing leg. These smaller steps are written with lower-case letters (i.e. f, s and b). The above steps are:
Man's steps (in blue):
Ls = man's 'L'eft foot closes (small 's'ide step)
Rb = man's 'R'ight foot closes with a small 'b'ack step, behind
the standing leg
Woman's steps (in red):
Ls = woman's 'L'eft foot closes (small 's'ide step)
Rf = woman's 'R'ight foot closes to a small 'f'ront-cross
step
